JobsHype Audience Intelligence, June 2026
The demographic composition of a local jobs page on Facebook is a critical factor in assessing its suitability for recruitment campaigns. JobsHype has analysed 249 audience profiles from across the UK network to establish the average age breakdown.
| Age Group | Average % of Audience | |-----------|----------------------| | 18–24 | 8.4% | | 25–34 | 28.7% | | 35–44 | 29.1% | | 45–54 | 20.7% | | 55–64 | 10.3% | | 65+ | 2.7% |
The data reveals a clear working-age majority. The 35–44 bracket edges ahead of 25–34 by a small margin (29.1% vs 28.7%), but both groups represent the core of the recruitment audience.
If we extend the working-age definition to include 25–54 year olds, this group accounts for an average of 78.5% of the typical jobs page audience — directly aligned with the JobsHype Audience Quality Score metric.
At just 8.4% average share, the 18–24 cohort is a minority on most UK jobs pages. This doesn't mean they're absent — some pages, particularly in student towns or urban centres, show higher concentrations — but the bulk of social recruitment audiences consist of experienced, established workers.
The 55–64 (10.3%) and 65+ (2.7%) groups together represent around 13% of the average audience. While not the primary target for most recruitment campaigns, their presence reflects the broader community-based following that local jobs pages often attract.
Urban pages tend to skew younger, with London, Manchester, and Bristol showing stronger 25–34 representation. Coastal and semi-rural pages often show a more mature audience, with higher 45–54 and 55–64 proportions. When selecting pages for a recruitment campaign, the age profile should be matched to the seniority and experience level of the role being advertised.
The average UK local jobs page audience is predominantly working-age, with the 25–44 bracket accounting for nearly 58% of followers. This makes Facebook one of the most effective channels for reaching experienced, active job seekers at scale.
