JobsHype has analysed the demographic profiles of 249 local jobs pages across the UK. The data shows that the 35–44 age group is the dominant cohort on 50.2% of all pages — making it the most frequently leading demographic in the network.
The 25–34 age group is the second most common leading bracket, topping the demographic on 41% of pages.
Only 8.4% of the remaining pages are led by the 45–54 age group, and just 0.8% by the 55–64 cohort.
Across all 249 profiles, the average age distribution is:
| Age Group | Average % of Audience | |-----------|----------------------| | 18–24 | 8.4% | | 25–34 | 28.7% | | 35–44 | 29.1% | | 45–54 | 20.7% | | 55–64 | 10.3% | | 65+ | 2.7% |
The 25–34 and 35–44 groups are remarkably close in average share, together accounting for 57.8% of the typical jobs page audience.
The dominance of the 35–44 cohort reflects a highly experienced, working-age population actively engaging with local job opportunities on Facebook. Employers targeting candidates with 10–20 years of experience will find this group well-represented across the JobsHype network.
For roles targeting early-career candidates, the 25–34 demographic is equally strong and leads the audience profile on a significant proportion of pages — particularly in urban locations such as London, Manchester, and Bristol.
Pages in major cities and commuter towns tend to skew younger, with higher proportions in the 25–34 bracket. Pages in more rural or semi-rural areas often show stronger representation in the 35–44 and 45–54 cohorts.
This geographic variation means that campaign targeting can be refined by both location and role type to align with the most relevant age profile.
The 35–44 age group is the most active demographic on UK Facebook jobs pages, present as the leading cohort on over half of all pages in the JobsHype network. Alongside the 25–34 bracket, these two groups together represent the core working-age recruitment audience on social media in the UK.
